The Falmouth Bike Lab is a community bike shop in Falmouth, Massachusetts and is a community outreach program of John Wesley United Methodist Church. We are focused on teaching people about the power of bicycles. Our programs are based on the community bike shop model that is found throughout the country and around the world. We take used bicycles that are donated to us from members of the community and refurbish them. These refurbished bikes are then distributed back into the community to people that can use them.
Youth that want to earn one of these bikes can go through one of our Earn-A-Bike programs that we generally offer during the summer. Adults can earn a bicycle by volunteering at the shop. Our volunteers work mainly during Open Shops, which is the time when anyone from the community can come in, use our tools and get help with their bike. Our goal is to make sure everyone in Falmouth surrounding communities has a bicycle that works. We seek to educate riders so that they can operate and maintain their bicycles safely and effectively. No bicycle experience or knowledge is required to be part of our team, only a willingness to learn and a desire to help others. Everyone is welcome!
